Birth + Arrival

Wednesday, August 28

Today was the long awaited day of my sweet, little brother's arrival to the world. He was born at 8:59 AM, weight 9 pounds and 8 ounces at 20 inches long. I have a love so deep for him already.

I love his soft skin, his long toes, his tiny fingers, his little top lip and big bottom lip, his deep dark blue eyes, and his tiny heart beat. I never thought I would be as emotional for all of this as I was sitting in that hospital. Seeing my mom go into her surgery at 43 was nerve-racking, and the hour and half we waited in the waiting room made me fret. Although the suspense nearly drove me insane, they both came out healthy and well, bringing so much joy to the world.

From the moment I picked him up, I was just captivated by him. He is so perfect, so wonderful, so beautiful. The Lord has given me a blessing that I could never have asked for. A blessing so big (in such a tiny body.) He is the most handsome, little man I have ever laid my eyes on. It was hard letting him go that first moment I held him to my chest; his hands reaching for my face and his eyes peeking open. I love him so dearly.

He is the most beautiful creation I've ever loved.
